We signed up for a drop-in beginner salsa class having between us approximately zero dance experience and the instructor managed to be encouraging without lying to us about how it was going. The footwork clicked about 45 minutes in and there was a specific moment — you'll know it when it happens — where it suddenly makes sense and you stop thinking about your feet. We went back the following Tuesday, then twice the week after that. It's become a regular thing.
